Dominique Davenport is a passionate advocate for gender equality, gender equity, and the advancement of womxn in entrepreneurship. She is the visionary entrepreneur and driving force behind Detroit's Future Is Female (DFF), an e-commerce loungewear and accessories brand with a mission that reaches far beyond fashion.
In 2016, DFF was born, and it has since grown into a powerful platform for change and an unwavering commitment to empower girls and womxn, while simultaneously making a positive impact on the community.
"Detroit's Future Is Female" is a socially conscious apparel brand on a mission to champion gender equality and equity. Our purpose is to create a world where kindness forms the unifying fabric that connects us all.
In 2022, Detroit's Future Is Female reached a significant milestone when it was acquired by Dominique Davenport. This acquisition was a testament to Dominique's entrepreneurial spirit and her commitment to expanding the brand's reach and impact. Notably, Dominique is also a seasoned event space owner in Detroit, with a track record of success through her ownership of Simply Social Detroit and Caniff House Photography Studio.
Dominique's journey towards empowering womxn and advocating for gender equality is further underscored by her educational background. She is an alumna of Salem College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, one of the oldest institutions in the United States. Here, she pursued a diverse academic path, majoring in Sociology and Not-for-Profit Management. These areas of study reflect her dedication to understanding the complexities of society and the non-profit sector, both of which are instrumental in her mission to effect change.
